Who I Work With
Things shouldn't feel this hard, yet they do. Whether it's your child, your teen, yourself, or your family — I work with people who are exhausted by the same patterns repeating and ready to understand what's actually getting in the way.
Emotional ups and downs, shutdowns, school stress, or a recent diagnosis. I help children build emotional regulation skills and develop tools that make daily life feel more manageable.
Ages 6–11Procrastination, social anxiety, school-related stress, or the weight of feeling like you're always falling behind. I work with teens to understand their patterns with more clarity and less self-criticism.
Ages 12–17Self-doubt, burnout, or the cumulative impact of years of undiagnosed or unsupported ADHD. Many adults I work with understand what's happening — but still find the same dynamics repeating at work, in relationships, or within themselves.
18+Keeping track of schedules, managing tension at home around follow-through, advocating at school — it's a heavy load. I work with parents to understand what's underneath the struggle and develop tools that actually fit daily life.

You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Here's what to expect.
A 20-minute call to hear what's bringing you in and talk through whether working together makes sense. No pressure, no commitment.
We spend time getting to know your situation — what's been hard, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for. I'll share my initial thoughts and we'll agree on a direction together.
Sessions are typically weekly to start. We move at a pace that works for you, with regular check-ins on how things are going.
About Dr. Fischel
I'm Leah Fischel, a Clinical Psychologist. I work with adolescents and adults — and the families around them — seeking greater clarity and flexibility in how they relate to themselves and others.
My work is grounded in a collaborative therapeutic relationship that feels steady, thoughtful, and supportive. Together, we explore how earlier experiences shape present-day emotions and relationships, allowing new ways of relating to emerge over time.
What Clients Are Saying
"Leah is warm and empathetic, but she also challenges you for the sake of your best interest. I feel like I've made more progress with her in a few months than I did in years with some of my previous therapists. Our work has helped me reframe so much of my life and I am so infinitely grateful."
"Dr. Fischel not only provided a clear understanding of my daughter's challenges but also recommended effective treatment strategies tailored to her needs. Her continued support has made a significant difference in my daughter's life, helping her build confidence and develop essential skills."
"My sessions with Leah feel like speaking to the closest friend and confidant — one who can anticipate the guidance I need, even when it's difficult to articulate and ask. I continue to look forward to our conversations, and the solace and relief she provides on rough days."
Common Questions
Everything you need to know before reaching out.
I am an out-of-network provider. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many clients are able to recover a significant portion of fees this way. Please contact me to discuss.
Yes. I am licensed in both Connecticut and New York, and I participate in PsyPact — an interstate compact that allows licensed psychologists to provide telepsychology services across participating states. This means I can see clients via telehealth in many states beyond CT and NY. In-person sessions are available at my offices in Stamford and Greenwich, CT, convenient for clients throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties.
I work with clients of all ages — children (from around age 6), teens, and adults. I also offer parent guidance and family support sessions.
A free consultation is the best place to start. I'll ask a few questions about what you're noticing and recommend the right starting point — whether that's an evaluation, therapy, or both.
A free consultation is a chance to talk through what's been getting in the way and discuss options for a more hopeful tomorrow.
